In an era of polycrisis, siloed, narrowly focused approaches have proven insufficient to address the complex, interconnected challenges we face globally.
This interactive workshop explores systemic investing—an emerging practice that reframes finance through the lens of relationships and interdependencies, rather than isolated solutions. Participants will examine alternatives to traditional, linear capital deployment models—such as standardized venture capital aimed at individual companies—and instead consider synergistic investment strategies. These include building strategic portfolios and coordinating diverse types of capital from various funders to target multiple leverage points within a system.
The ecological transition in construction and urban development offers a compelling case study of how systemic approaches can reshape impact finance and foster cross-industry collaboration. The goal: to co-create regenerative value chains and sustainable urban ecosystems.
Through a range of perspectives—from remediation and construction to policy and technology—this workshop will showcase concrete strategies and real-world projects that promote circularity, resilience, and innovation in urban settings.
