Pelvic Floor Integration: For Survivors of Sexual Adversity
A Trauma-Informed Exploration Through Movement, Mindfulness and Dialogue
This class series is designed as a healing modality for those with sexual trauma/adverse experiences in their personal history, including but not limited to sexual assault, domestic violence or even birth trauma.
The work is meant to:
Reveal holding patterns in the body that are not helpful
Release both physical and emotional tension
Increase insight about how our pelvic floor may be affected by trauma or adversity
Include some shared group or partner dialogue to hold space for emotions/grief/clarity
Call attention to our capacity for change, resilience and growth
Of note: This class is NOT just for folks with vulvas (we all have pelvic floors!)
Also of note: A yoni egg option could be introduced for deepened awareness during the 2nd and 3rd class.
About Diane:
I am a trauma-informed wellness educator and an integrative social worker with a concentration in sexology. I am focused on building intergenerational resilience and on helping folks cultivate mind/body/social wellbeing. Relationship-building, body-wisdom, slow yoga, art-making, mindfulness and re-wilding guide my practice. I believe that group and partner work can be a vehicle for transformation. I believe that resilience is learned and that vulnerability makes us flexible and brave. I believe that the wellbeing of our children reflects the wellbeing of our communities.
