Lecture "...and the number became word": How do LLMs change humans?
As we enter a new era dominated by conversational machines, MA Family, a PR and communication agency specializing in tech companies, is hosting a lecture by Alexei Grinbaum, a senior research scientist at CEA-Saclay (France), focusing on quantum information theory.
During the lecture, Alexei will provide a brief overview of asemantic language generation by transformer neural networks before delving into examples of how non-human agents influence us through their speech. These effects, akin to those attributed to mythological non-human speakers like angels or oracles, are both illusory and genuine. Drawing from stories in Greek and Jewish traditions, Alexei will shed light on the forthcoming transformation in human experience brought about by LLMs.
Alexei Grinbaum writes on ethical questions related to emerging technologies, including robotics and AI. He serves as the chair of the CEA Operational Digital Ethics Committee and is a member of the French National Digital Ethics Committee (CNPEN). Additionally, he holds an Ethics Chair position with the European Commission. His books include "Mécanique des étreintes" (2014), "Les robots et le mal" (2019), and "Parole de machines" (2023).
