About Event

Here's your golden chance to ask Marty Cagan, a distinguished product management thought leader and founder of the Silicon Valley Product Group (SVPG), those really intriguing questions you have about anything in the world of product! This will be a casual fireside chat style event moderated by two awesome Product Buds members, Shimon Johnson and Phyllis Njoroge.

Marty Cagan founded the Silicon Valley Product Group in 2003 to pursue his interests in helping others create successful products through his writing, speaking, advising and coaching. Previously, Marty served as an executive responsible for defining and building products for some of the most successful companies in the world, including HP Labs, Netscape Communications, and eBay.

Marty is the author of INSPIRED: How To Create Tech Products Customers Love, and the newly released EMPOWERED: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Products. Marty is an invited speaker at conferences and companies worldwide, and is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz and of the Stanford University Executive Institute.

Shimon Johnson is a 2020 software engineering graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a member of the Product Buds community. He is currently working his way onto securing a full time PM role and started his product journey quite unusually by baking and selling cakes to friends and family and also performing as a standup comic beyond his 9 to 5 routine.

Phyllis Njoroge is a Product Manager, LinkedIn content creator, and previous Creative Director of Product Buds. She writes about impostor syndrome, the job search, and her experience in product management and mentors those in product as well as those trying to break in.
