Product Buds: Tech, Design, Business โ Which Do Product Managers Need?
โ๐ก About the event ๐ก
โIn the technology industry, product managers are often responsible for setting a course and executing relentlessly. This is an open discussion about what roles tech, design, and business play in product development led by Alex "Q" Duong, Product Manager at Google! Is one most important? Is there a certain order in which to address them? Join the chat!
โ๐ฃ About the speaker ๐ฃ
โ"Q," as friends and colleagues call him, has an unusual path to product management. Before PM, he expanded Internet capacity in Africa, worked for a micro-finance nonprofit in Vietnam, and was a management consultant to CFOs. He has degrees in law, economics, and human-computer interaction (HCI) - but exactly none in engineering. Silicon Valley has no idea who he is.
โNone of that stops him as a tinkerer and strategist at heart. He's built some of the first smart speaker, digital assistant, and mesh Wi-Fi technologies surrounding us today. His latest ventures include democratizing A/B testing tools to reach more people, training for a triathlon, and planning for a kitesurfing trip post-pandemic.
