About Event

Get an inside perspective on Stanford’s Graduate School of Business with Stanford GSB alum, Ben L., and incoming GSB student, Alice O. As experienced MBA coaches, Ben and Alice have developed a nuanced understanding of how to land a place at the world’s most sought-after business school. During this session, they will offer their advice on how to stand out, craft your narrative, and build a holistic application for the MBA admissions process. Whether you're considering applying for the traditional or deferred MBA, this session is one you won’t want to miss.

Ben's Background: Ben started his career at McKinsey and later joined the Chicago Mayor’s Office, working on economic development policy before attending Stanford GSB. While at Stanford, he founded his own practice, Elevate Advisory, working with startup CEOs, private equity firms, and venture capitalists. Today, Ben is based in NYC, where he is building a chess coaching marketplace, TownSquareChess.com, while continuing his coaching and advisory work. He earned his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology and Economics.

Alice's Background: Alice brings her unique perspective as both a coach and an incoming MBA student at Stanford GSB with recent experience in MBA application success. She applied to five programs and received offers from four, including Stanford GSB, Wharton, MIT, and Tuck, where she was awarded a $140k fellowship. Alice began her career with an internship at Goldman Sachs, which led to roles in private equity at Long Wharf Capital and Rockpoint. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Williams College and spent a year at the University of Oxford through an exchange program.
