​Our Host: Angie Hickson

​

​Angie Hickson is an English artist and art educator who moved from The Netherlands to Portugal in 2020. With a background in fine art and textile design from Manchester Metropolitan University, she produced designs for U.S. fashion houses before founding Isana Design. In 2008, she won the NESTA Young Person's Business Award.

​Inspired by Portugal's vibrant coastline, Angie now focuses on transforming used surfboards into art. With over 20 years of experience, her paintings have been exhibited and sold across the UK, Europe, and North America.

​In 2021, she founded Portugal Art Classes, hosting events that bring people together to create unique art. Angie is also the resident artist at Galeria House of Wonders in Cascais, where she leads group art classes for adults.
