About Event

Create digital lifeforms at the Cognition Hackathon

Hosted by Open Souls, explore ways to structure cognition and perception, and build the first glimpses of digital life. If you want to think about the long term possibilities of AI technology, this is your chance to connect with like-minded individuals building off the beaten path.

​Throughout the day, we'll have inspiring speakers who will share their wisdom and insights, and help you think out of the box on what language models truly are. There will be prizes for the most innovative hacks and dinner will be provided, we look forward to seeing what you make.

Each speaker brings a unique vision on the future of cognition and society from their legendary experiences in industry. We are exploring alternative and positive visions of the future for humanity and artificial intelligence.

Whether you’re just getting started or already pushing the boundaries of AI research forward, we ask you to join us with an open mind as we expand our perspectives together.

Schedule of Events

  • 10:00AM: Doors open, breakfast

  • 10:15AM: Kickoff by Kevin Fischer + Team Matching

  • 10:30AM: Hacking begins

  • 11:00AM: Morning Talks

  • 12:00PM: Lunch!

  • 1:00PM: Afternoon Talks

  • Focus time (for the hackers)

  • 5:00PM: Dinner

  • 6:00PM: Judging begins

  • 7:00PM: Demos

  • 7:45PM: Winners announced + Prizes

  • 8:00PM: Event ends

Provisions

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be catered with delicious veggie options

  • We will have a stage, AV, and an AV tech on-site

  • Open Souls staff will be on-site to host, keep time, and help the hackers

  • First 30 in the door will receive a book, first 75 receive an Open Souls jacket

  • If you’re not sure, just ask! You may bring guests, but ask them to register first

Prizes

  • First Place will receive an Apple Vision Pro

  • Second Place will receive an iPad

  • Third place will receive a raspberry pi + e-ink screen
