Cultivating Wholeness in a Fractured World: Regenerative Practice as a Path Forward
What if the fragmentation we’re experiencing isn’t just a crisis to endure—but an invitation to evolve?
Around the world, we’re witnessing the breakdown of systems that once promised stability. Across our communities, institutions, and in our inner lives, people are feeling the strain of disconnection—disconnection from place, from one another, and from a sense of meaningful contribution. In this moment of profound uncertainty, what kind of leadership, thinking, and practice can help us move beyond reaction and toward regeneration?
This seminar begins with an introduction to regenerative practice by Bill Reed, one of the world's foremost practitioners and an originator of the discipline. Bill will introduce the core principles of regenerative practice, a living systems approach that goes beyond sustainability to equip up with the capability to create the future conditions we truly desire--for both the human and more-than-human world. He'll share how regenerative practice works from potentialrather than deficits, seeking to align human activity with the uniqueness of each place. Bill’s talk will orient participants to the foundational thinking behind this approach, offering practical insights into how regeneration can be applied in diverse contexts around the world.
Following the talk, we’ll shift into a fireside conversation between Bill and Institute Associate Director Avery Hardy. Together, we’ll explore how regenerative practice speaks to the crisis of meaning and belonging so many are experiencing today—and how it can help us cultivate the ability to rebuild wholeness in times of fracture. We’ll explore what collective capabilities we must we grow to "meet the moment" and engage the polycrisis as an opportunity. And, we'll investigate how regeneration can present a reconciliatory path forward—one that helps us source collective resilience and reclaim our role as co-participants in the ongoing evolution of life on earth.
Whether you’re new to regenerative thinking or seeking a deeper sense of direction on this path, this conversation is an open invitation to engage with this vibrant movement--in service of all of life.
You're invited to join our global community through participating in our flagship course, The Regenerative Practitioner Series. Launched in 2013, The Regenerative Practitioner Series was designed to equip committed change agents with the capacity to apply regenerative development in their unique contexts. Today, a global graduate community of nearly 2,000 practitioners across 40+ countries is actively working together to regenerate life, culture, and place worldwide.
