On Friday May 2, join us for a marathon celebration of immersive art, sound, and connection—an unforgettable experience from the Collider Fellowship at Lincoln Center. 

Drop-in style Open Studios from 1-7:00 PM, Roundtable and reception from 7:30-9:00 PM.

Brandon Powers  

Stanley Kaplan Penthouse (10th Floor)   

Discover a revolutionary motion capture tool for choreographers in Unreal Engine that enables a single dancer to generate complex, large-scale dance sequences. Featuring real-time multi-angle visualization, mixed reality integration, and an easy-to-use interface, this tool democratizes and accelerates the choreographic process.

Presentations explaining the tool will occur at the times above. At all other times, guests are invited to the space to talk with Brandon and have hands-on-time with the tool, including an interactive VR demo with live dancers.

Annie will host casual, open conversations on the themes of her research during the Collider Fellowship for the duration of this Open Studio. Drop by to talk about how to rest, how to rage, friendship, survival, technology, climate, where to live, how to work and why, or whatever else you need to talk about. Resources, insights, a really good basic salad dressing recipe and other tools both practical and poetic will be on hand. Come on over.

The Samuels Teaching Studio (7th Floor)  

All Around (work in progress) 

“All Around” is a new chapter from the ongoing cinematic opera project Chimera featuring drag performer Patti Spliff as Orbis. It is an exploration of memory, distance and connection through spiral portals and imaginary landscapes.

Kenchakaj Kengkarnka 

The Clark Studio Theater (7th Floor)  

Lulled into a dreamy sleep from which there will be no waking up  ถูกกล่อมให้เพ้อละเมอหลับใหลไปเสียแล้วอย่างไม่มีวันตื่น (work in progress) 

Kengchakaj continues to explore and experiment in real-time multichannel sound with an acoustic piano, a 9-channel custom speaker system as a new medium for his new project Lulled into a dreamy sleep from which there will be no waking up ถูกกล่อมให้เพ้อละเมอหลับใหลไปเสียแล้วอย่างไม่มีวันตื่น. The title, a prose from Thai radical thinker, Jitr Poumisak, refers to the state before going through this Thai political phenomenon called "ตาสว่าง", "eyes wide open"–the process through which a person becomes disillusioned with propaganda and false histories.

Andrew Schneider  

The Clark Studio Theater (7th Floor) 

Andrew is in the beginning phases of development for a performer-reactive volumetric lighting and sound installation to be the basis for the design of a new dance piece he is making, slated to premiere at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in July. A Wave Field Synthesis array and 24 DMX winches and lights are controlled using an Ultra-Wide-Band tracking system.

Celine Daemen  

The Classroom (7th Floor)   

Celine will host a participatory open rehearsal of a multi audience VR-experiment. During the Collider Fellowship Celine and her collaborator Aron Fels have been researching their desire to create a collective multi-audience VR experience. To investigate different audience structures for this future piece, they will experiment with 3 leading-edge devices for a reimagined multi audience version of their award-winning work, Songs for a Passerby. These experiments will be the basis for their testcase and be in conversation with the audience about their collective journeys.    

VR experiences run every 20 minutes followed by 5 minutes of artist conversation. Sign up will be available in-person the day of, walk-ins are welcome
