🎙️ Gemma Sturt – Senior Investment Manager, We Venture Capital (Werfen)
Gemma brings 6+ years of experience building and investing in startups across life sciences. At We Venture Capital, the venture arm of global diagnostics leader Werfen, she focuses on frontier diagnostics and digital health.
She’s supported the deployment of several early-stage VC funds across Europe and the UK, including at BioCity (acquired in 2021). Prior to her investment career, she held commercial roles in VC-backed startups and studied Analytical Chemistry at the University of Manchester and Università degli Studi di Firenze.

🎙️ Aizaz Syed – Portfolio & Investment Manager, Tenmile
Aizaz leads, originates and manages investments for Tenmile as well as coordinating the overall portfolio strategy. He serves as a non-executive director of Aravax (Phase 2 peanut allergy immunotherapy) and Proton Intelligence.
With 10+ years of experience across early-stage investing, strategy and advisory roles, Aizaz previously worked at Nightingale Partners and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He holds degrees in Law and Commerce from ANU and is admitted as a solicitor in NSW.
🎙️Michelle Gallaher - Chief Executive Officer, Cerulea Clinical Trials
Michelle is an award-winning thought-leader, speaker, advocate, and health technology entrepreneur. She has established four start-ups including Trialkey, which applies artificial intelligence to improving and predicting clinical trial results.
Commencing in allied health, Michelle’s career spans clinical and administrative roles in public and private health, commercial and executive roles with biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical organisations, as well as leading a biotech peak-body and influencing legislation and regulation in healthtech.
Michelle moved from the corporate world to found her first startup in 2014, successfully selling that business three years later and going on to found AI health tech company Opyl Ltd in 2019 (ASX: OPL).
Michelle is an experienced non-executive director on several boards (Praxis Australia, Cancer Trials Australia, and Medtech Actuator) and is co-founder of not-for-profit advocacy organisation, Women in STEMM Australia.
