About Event

Play and games are often dismissed as being unserious and frivolous—and therefore, don’t belong at work.

We say: that's nonsense! 🙅‍♀️

Play and games are incredibly valuable tools, not only for building stronger team culture and morale, but also for deep experiential learning that catalyzes critical conversations and inspires meaningful change 🧠💛

This session is a sequel to our ButterMixer with Alex Suchman from Barometer XP in May 2024, where we got to experience the depths of impact that can be achieved through play 🔥

In this session, she'll be sharing a framework for connecting games to specific culture change outcomes, such as trust building, more transparent decision making, and process improvement.

We’ll play one of Barometer XP’s signature simulations, and reflect on how games can illuminate team dynamics and help teams embrace change.

What you’ll experience:

  • 👯 Explore how to identify and discuss team dynamics using play

  • ✅ Complete the team simulation that was introduced during the May 2nd workshop

  • 💡 Play games and reflect on the learning and development outcomes made possible through play

Don’t miss this follow-up to see how much of a fun game-changer strategic play can be for your teams!

See you there 👋

About the host

Alexandra (Alex) Suchman is CEO and co-founder of Barometer XP, a company that uses games and play to build stronger workplace cultures. She’s a woman on a mission to make work a place you actually want to be, and by facilitating game sessions for Barometer’s clients, she helps individuals and teams build a sense of trust and community that leads to meaningful, sustainable culture change.

Before co-founding Barometer XP, Alex founded the consulting firm AIS Collaborations as well as working for over a decade in policy, public health, and operations management. She has an MPP from The George Washington University, a BA in psychology from Colby College, and is certified as both a Project Management Professional (PMP) and DISC coach.

Alex currently lives in Washington, DC with her partner and their dog, who thinks that any “play” she’s involved in should definitely include her.
