We would like to welcome you to another event of the Salon of the California Institute of Machine Consciousness!
How is it possible that a computational system, biological or artificial, can feel anything? How does emotion relate to perception, self, motivation and control of behavior? How does emotion work, how does it relate to body and motivation?
Let us look into affect, appraisal, modulation of cognition, valenced reactions and configuration of self models. Joscha Bach will give an introduction to how we can understand emotion from a functionalist perspective, and model it in AI architectures.
