Boot Strapped Marketing Tips

Hi Founder,

Raise your hand if you are bootstrapping your business

You may be taking out loans or using your “day job” paycheck to fund your business dream. You probably have spent money in the past that you “wish you could get back” as it didn’t pan out as you had hoped (isn’t that the worst?). Well, since I am right there with you bootstrapping it, I wanted to share some easy marketing tips.

  • Create one asset and use it for the following marketing tools:

    • Blog

    • Email

    • Social media video about it (organic)

    • Boost it on social as an ad

    • LI post

    • Investor update, etc.

  • Partnerships: reach out to complimentary brands to do giveaways, posts, email or something helping each other for free.

  • If a recurring purchase brand (lower cost and shipping): giving away your item to influential people you know (PTA mom, hair salon to put in her store, goody bags at parties, etc.) to just get it in everyone's hands everywhere they go for easy sampling. They likely will not want it (don’t be offended), but may give it to someone who does.

  • Engage with other brands/people on social, this will help you grow your audience and costs you nothing

Ensure you are speaking to and connecting with the right target audience for your business or none of your marketing efforts will work.

However, even though we are bootstrapping it, we have limited time, and a lot of marketing takes time to create and execute. If you need help, never hesitate to reach out to me so that you know it’s reliable, taken care of, and you can be one step closer to achieving your goals.

Client Highlight - Theo’s

Theo’s is a baby mealtime solution for messy eaters that sells floor and table mats as well as on-the-go feeding utensils. They were looking to create some powerful partnerships (check out the cliff notes from my free webinar).

So we had a brainstorm to figure out:

  • What these partnerships look like (benefits to both parties)

  • Who we want to partner with

  • What age group focused on going after

  • Where to connect with other baby brands to create these partnerships

Matt and his wife Monica left our meeting energized (as much as one can be with 3 little kids) and blown away with our session. See his testimonial below:

If  anyone is interested in partnering together with Theo’s feel free to reach out to: matt@shelflifebrands.com
