🌱 DC Climate: Feb + March 2023 Events

Hi DC Climate Community,

After a lot of asks from the community, I've decided to start a newsletter of everything going on in the DC area at the intersection of climate and gatherings.

β€‹πŸ€ Calling All DC Climate Leaders... Apply to CELI

As I was transitioning more full-time into sustainability and climate tech, I had the opportunity to join the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) Fellowship which was a gamechanger for me.

Not only did I learn a ton about fields outside of my specialty, but I also could lean on the robust CELI DC community filled with brilliant minds.

If you're looking to expand your network and want to learn more about CELI, I would highly recommend going to their recruitment event or applying.

The fee for early-bird applications is waived until Feb. 15th.

⏩ Upcoming Calendar of Events

β€‹πŸ—“ Feb. 23rd | Green Drinks DC 🍻

Join the Green Drinks DC community for drinks, connections, laughs, and great times. They will be indoors at the Fainting Goat this month.

β€‹πŸ—“ Feb. 26th | CELI Recruitment Event ⚑️

Join CELI for an energizing and casual info session on CELI's DC 2023 Fall Fellowship - all energy friends and colleagues are welcome!

β€‹πŸ—“ Mar. 9th | Next DC Climate Gathering 🌱

We'll be at Franklin Hall right on Florida Ave in Shaw area. I decided to keep it indoors because the March weather is hit or miss.

I totally forgot to snap a pic at our February gathering so thank you Hannah for snapping this picture!

β€‹πŸ—“ Mar. 16th | US Tech for Climate Action Conference

Join policy leaders as they share more about their vision for the US regarding climate tech. Tons of networking, keynotes, sessions, and more.

β€‹πŸ™πŸΌ Asks From This Community

1. Looking for DC Climate Volunteers πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Life update: My partner, Kristen, and I will move to Bend, Oregon in August. 🌲 This is a move both of us have been dreaming of for years, however, it's bittersweet.

DC has been such a big part of my life. I've been grateful for the climate community that has been building over the last few years here.

I'm looking for some volunteers that want to carry the torch and continue building the climate ecosystem here in DC. I'm looking for support in planning events and running this newsletter.

Please reach out to me at vidmicevic@gmail.com, if you'd like to help out and lean into community building here in DC :)

2. Share DC Climate Events With Me πŸ˜„

I would like this community to be as inclusive as possible. If you have a climate event that you know of, please reach out to me directly at vidmicevic@gmail.com so it can be featured next time.

That's all folks for this first edition DC Climate newsletter. I would love to hear your feedback.

What did you like? What do you want to see? After all, this is a community, and we all have to lean on each other ❀️

With gratitude,

Vid
