This is a special edition of Lolita's Newsletter, a bi-weekly newsletter of curated actionable insights and resources for underestimated founders, funders, and friends.

I’m excited to share this special edition newsletter in collaboration with the Techstars Detroit Powered by JP Morgan team because I've personally worked with and am a fan of the program's Managing Director, Monica Wheat, and Investment Associate, Chacho Valadez. For as long as I've known them, they've been committed to backing and supporting underestimated founders. - Lolita Taub

A Note from the Techstars Detroit powered by JP Morgan team

👋🏽 Early Stage Founders, it’s no secret that the bear market landscape has changed for early-stage companies, and raising money is more challenging than it’s been in a long time. Not to mention that fundraising has always been difficult for underrepresented founders. These factors are on top of the already difficult endeavor of building a company. Enter Techstars Detroit.

We are searching for the next 12 companies that will participate in our 3-month program at Techstars Detroit Powered by JP Morgan! Applications close on Jan 4, 2023, and the program starts April 3, 2023.

We’re a diverse team that’s worked with thousands of companies, and that uniquely understands the pain points of companies at the earliest stages, especially those led by underrepresented founders. Our goal is to help you succeed as an entrepreneur. We are in the weeds with you, helping with anything from customer discovery, to product feedback, to refining your story for investors and business development partners, and much more.

You’ll be side-by-side with fellow entrepreneurs, mentors, and an extensive Techstars network of thousands working with you toward your success. We’ve even seen many entrepreneurs make lifelong friends through the program 🙂.

Techstars Detroit Powered by JP Morgan builds on the unique strengths of Detroit’s startup ecosystem, one that is built on resilience, community, and hard work. Techstars is the #1 investor in black and brown founders who raise $1M or more – this could be you!
