Living Happily

Monday start and we all are revved up to begin our week. Time for reflection was the weekend. However, still it’s never too late to think about what ‘Living Happily’ really means.

I follow a lot of investment professionals and one of them is Nick Maggiulli - who recently posted a blog article about ‘What Really Predicts Happiness?

He quotes a study which finds out -

Close relationships, more than money or fame, are what keep people happy throughout their lives.

Also another line which caught my eye.

Of course, this doesn’t imply that you (or anyone else) needs to live in NYC to be happy. But it does imply that you should spend more time working on your relationships. Because if you want to live a happier, healthier life, then you should focus on maximizing your social wealth instead of your financial wealth. If that means living closer to your friends or family, then do it.

VC Invested Capital

Where is most VC money going? It’s always a good to know the relative diffeence between VC tranches (Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, etc.). The chart below although old still presents a stark picture on where the VC money is going.

Keep in mind the amount of capital required at the later stages is much higher (think 10’s or 100’s of million), so there is an inbuilt skew.
