Startup news of the week
There were a lot of activities in the Startup Ecosystem this week:
- Ola Electric to invest $500 million to establish its Battery Innovation Center (BIC) in Bengaluru, an R&D center for electric vehicle (EV) battery cells. SoftBank and Sequoia India, among others, have recommended their portfolio startups in India to join the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
- Companies selling branded rice and wheat have begun to make heavier packets in order to escape the 5% GST on pre-packaged, pre-labelled food weighing up to 25 kg, as the CBIC stated on Sunday that pre-packaged food goods weighing more than 25 kg in a single packet will be free from GST.
- Following the dissolution of the Blockchain and Crypto Assets Council (BACC), cryptocurrency exchanges and blockchain companies are attempting to form an alternative think tank to address sector issues.
- Global NFT transactions have been impacted by the global economic crisis as well as the cryptocurrency crash. Along with the worldwide issues, the adoption of a 1% TDS on VDA transactions has harmed the Indian NFT marketplaces.

🚀 Nikunj Thakkar, an entrepreneur turned Product Manager. He also co- founded DataOne Innovation Labs and Shoppr.ai. He currently works with Whatfix as Product Manager.
🚀Dashmash runs a Pizza Franchise in remote places of Haryana and Punjab. He owns 17+ franchises across both the states. His venture is famous for the wooden pan pizza. He is looking to expand soon in metro cities!
