​🎪 The Metaverse Pitch Winner is...

​On Saturday we hosted an epic Pitch Competition & BBQ with a16z for LATechWeek. Big shoutout to Katia for organizing LATeckWeek, Jack, Robin, and Jonathan for judging, and Contact CI and Echo3d for sponsoring our event and covering the BBQ.

​Cix Liv (⭐️ AR House Member) pitched what he is calling Sports 2.0. It's name is REK and it's a passthrough VR game where you throw fireballs with your fists and run around to charge your shots and trust me, this game really gets your heart pumping.

​The judges loved it too. So congratulations Cix & REK for winning AR House's first Metaverse Pitch Competition! This trophy is for you and will be available as a digital collectible in AR House's upcoming web-based AR Metaverse, the Houseverse.

​What impressed the judges most is the opportunity for REK to become a true spectator sport like Basketball or Boxing with clear audience monetization opportunities that extend past the traditional games industry. Catch a brief moment of his pitch here.

​HONORABLE MENTION: a16z Robin's favorite company from the pitch was SPHENE, founded by our very own members Vincent and Steph. Sphene had an incredibly impressive demo that turned a pair of real shoes into a digital collectible with augmented reality effects.

​Bzaar Labs - the Sims clothing creator for collectible Metaverse fashion, simply the easiest way for creators & brands to manufacture stunning, unique fashion for virtual worlds

​AR House - we want our home to be a destination for AR creators & enthusiasts for decades to come but we don't actually own the house so that's why we're launching a $1M Crowd Equity round to give our community (literally you!) an opportunity to own a piece of our vision for $100 and up and help us buy the house!
