Yes, it's now officially that time of year. FAFSA Season! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid form for 2022 is now open for you to fill out! NPR actually had a story about it this morning.

And if you're looking at a variety of schools and don't know how to pick and choose, here's a good overview of the financial considerations written by Jeff Selingo, a noted author on the subject of higher education. In short, don't put all your eggs into the highly selective schools. Try and find good value schools, which are often overlooked and can sometimes offer a better financial aid package than the elite schools.

Here in Illinois, a new non-profit led by former CPS CEO Janice Jackson, aims to raise money for college scholarships from businesses.
