​Hi Founder, 

​Have you ever realized that owning a business is essentially the same as having a baby? In fact, I recently saw in a FB group one mom friend throwing her single friend a “business shower” since that new business owner had been the maid of honor/baby shower organizer for all of them, and it was finally her turn to shine. 

​We all lose sleep thinking about our costs, development, or just the general well-being of our business, much like having a baby. The appointments, check-ins, and even the board/investor meetings sometimes feel like parent-teacher conferences.

What struck me most about this concept is a lot of people warn you (understandably) that it is a business, not your baby This especially comes to play once you have investors, staff and other commitments. But we are passionate about our businesses and COMMITTED to having them succeed.

​My friends always joke with me that I care too much about my clients' businesses. One said to me, “Brooke, these are products/services, not real babies.” TRUE, but I am so passionate and committed to helping businesses grow their brand and meet their sales goals and succeed that it oftentimes feels motherly. Between my own Sprinkles Parents Community and Brooke Shapiro Consulting, I would say that babies and businesses (and businesses as babies) are what’s most important to me.

​Content creation is a definite skill. There are typically those that can create content well and those that can grow content well. I love working with Mackenzie Lawrence on clients as we really are a ying and a yang. In order for magic to happen, it’s important to set creators up for success by having clear strategies focused ahead of time and then ensuring everything is on brand.  We recently launched a brand and built their pages from scratch, as well as developed a community to thrive.
