Cults and Brands

Have you watched any of those shows about cults, communes, religious fascists etc.?  They aren’t for everyone, but if you can’t figure out what to watch on a streaming service, then check them out:  Morman No More, Keep Sweet Pray and Obey and Wild Country, just to name a few

What is fascinating about anything that involves these “religions” is the marketing done in order to get folks excited and interested. What are the leaders saying to get people to want to join? Notice how the leaders tell people what they want them to do, how they are going to do it, and give them an incentive for doing it? That’s just optimized marketing for you! 


Over the years of studying these groups and working on certain brands whose business model was all about “fueling the cult of the brand,” I learned how to turn brands into businesses that consumers love and talk about with their families and friends. 

Building your brand is so important, as that’s what is going to get consumers to purchase from you. The stronger your brand, the more likely your consumer will share your information and part of your marketing for you. 

Brand fandom is one of the major ways that you will see eCommerce brands succeed.
