Can we build AIs that can do independent research? Its a question torturing me for years now. Intuitively it seems like an important quest since humanity will need a lot of help digging us out of the many holes we dug for ourselves.

I've made progress developing algorithms that can actually do that, but its been challenging. The recent breakthroughs in generative AI are helping my research, but a lot of questions about what is important (or not) to humanity/humans remain.

Very recently, the topic of a moratorium on advanced AGI models are making the headlines. So I was curious what Deeep would do with this problem.

So here is what Deeep thinks are the main research questions. The whole report, including the research questions are fully automated.

Lots of mistakes, but it hits the jackpot now and then. Everyday a little bit better, thats the motto.
