Hi team,

As we reach our First Year together at ADPList, I want to take this moment to express my gratitude for you. For believing in the mission of democratizing mentorships for the world, and all you do in pursuit of this mission. I'm thankful.

I've been inspired by all of you. Even in unpredictable circumstances, I've seen the very best of us. It has never been clearer why we need to exist - the world needs human connection now more than ever, and I know that ADPList will rise to the occasion. I believe this because I believe in you.

Stories like Cami, Federico, Michael and much more from the US to India - reminds us that a mentor lives in us when conversations are shared in an open and inclusive way. In just 2.5 months, we've seen over 3.1k verified sessions happened globally.

The Rise of Mentors

It certainly seems that “mentors are eating the world,” and the most successful mentors are on ADPList. But what does the word “mentor” even mean?

To us, mentors are people with insights or experiences who genuinely want to share it with others. Whatever they do, they attract others with their authenticity. Like Ben Thompson said, people follow people. We see in the mentors a better version of ourselves, and we desire to connect with them and other like-minded people, to feel whole, to have shared conversations, and to grow.

Thanks to social networks, it’s now easier than ever for mentors to “be seen." However, anything deeper than content consumption is still difficult. Mentors often struggle to use enterprise software and generic tools to pull their mentees together.

What's Next for ADPList

We are building ADPList to be the place where mentors share meaningful conversations with mentees globally, 10x easier than before. How are we going to do this? It will come in three phases. Enabling mentoring > Connecting mentoring > Grow mentor economy.

We're currently in the first phase and each will take a couple years, by phase 3, we will have likely democratize mentorships globally and that anyone would be able to get access to mentorships or be a mentor themselves at scale.

In our first year, we built a simple site loved by our users. We connected thousands of people through virtual events, and mentoring sessions.

In the second year, we'll be building a suite of mentors tools loved by our community so we can take more administrative burden off of mentors - like calendar, group sessions and more, while giving our community a shared space that’s safe and comfortable by default.

ADPList is in the early days of our mission and I can't be more excited to further this with you.

Here’s to infinity and beyond.

Godspeed.

With love,

Felix
