I get asked all the time how I was able to build Sprinkles Parents up to two-thousand parents across FB/IG/YT in less than a year.

The keys to community building are actually very similar to parenthood. In parenting classes (which I also teach) you learn that kids just want to feel like they are significant and belong. If that doesn’t happen, they go off and make bad choices (hitting, running away etc).

It’s the same with your purchasers/clients. If you help them feel like they belong to something greater than just your product or your brand, then they feel loyal to you. Remember though, just because you build a community on Circle or a FB group doesn't then mean they will come. 

So how do you accomplish this? 

  • Authentically answer their issues in other groups and direct them to your community for more information;

  • Create a resource or document that they need;

  • Incentivize them to bring their friends;  

  • Build your community where they want to be (not where you want them to go); and

  • Engage and educate them on a topic larger than your product.
