The captivating aspect  of Technology is its ability to morph with time and create new domains of applications in everyday life. The advent of these new domains, results in the opportunity to innovate and contribute to this transformation. As technologists and product managers, knowing about these domain shifts is essential to keep yourself abreast of latest avenues where one can contribute. The ability to leverage on these technology shifts is advantageous for career growth either by evolving our domains to suit these or to career pivot to them. This WeeklyWed we have the confluence of FinTech and AI which has opened up a plethora of opportunities for us to explore. We bring you Bhuva Subram, a FinTech veteran who will talk about this confluence of AI and FinTech on this Wednesday March 30th at 9 AM PT as part of WeeklyWed Series from Business School of AI.

The epitome of human evolution is the invention of currency which replaced the commodity exchange paradigm of ancient civilizations. Those countries which aced the world are the ones who gained substantial control over their finances. Not just countries, any company or organization needs a sound finance background to succeed. Over the last century we have seen the advent of computers used in this domain. IBM started off as International Business Machines mainly catering to this field. Since then there have been many players of technology providing applications and driving the way finance is evolving. Bhuva Subram comes with 22 years in FinTech space mainly with Capgemini and will address this topic in detail to educate and empower each one to dive deeper into FinTech.

Bhuva is a FinTech transformation entrepreneur at Wallet Max, passionate about ESG inclusion and sustainable digital innovation.  She has managed diverse global teams, and launched several technology products as an executive with Capgemini in the investment banking and regulatory compliance industry.  With an MBA from Columbia university, Bhuva leads Women in AI non-profit for North America, and is an early-stage investor in social impact startups with a mission to accelerate education and economic growth.

Only an experienced technology veteran like Bhuva can explain the FinTech domain in depth as she has the journey first hand. Bring your questions to be answered by her as WeeklyWed is a live Question and Answer session which enables you to connect with the speaker. WeeklyWed is an Internal speaker series on AI, AV and IoT. As the AI winter is over and we see Artificial Intelligence making great strides in different fields, we shall learn about such a journey in the FinTech domain.

  • How does AI impact the practices in FinTech?

  • What are the opportunities for AI professionals?

  • How can one career pivot to AI for FinTech?

Artificial Intelligence is neither a wave not a trend but it is here to stay. AI is the future of humanity where humans learn to create and to live with them, with emphasis on considering the ethical implications of such AI on us. Fairness and Bias Mitigation Techniques are being developed which create AI that doesn’t get affected by the stereotypes and cognitive and cultural biases we have as part of the society. Last WeeklyWed we had Camille Eddy talk to us about “Recognizing Cultural Bias” and how AI ethics matter to each of us. Here is the recording of the session: https://youtu.be/HviiW7oVzOU

We continue that conversation with Bhuva about Artificial Intelligence opportunities. Bhuva is the Ambassador Lead of Women in AI North America and Mexico and who else can narrate about the initiatives of Women in AI to us other than Bhuva herself. This may be a good chance to understand in detail the initiatives at Women in AI so that we can benefit from those or pass it on to someone to whom it might set them on an AI career trajectory. Also many of you may wonder how you can contribute to this organization and bring a difference to many women in technology. Bring your questions to this WeeklyWed to be answered by Bhuva.
