Yom Kippur + 7 new October Events!
Welcome to Year 5783!
It has been so energizing to come together as a community for several events since we started CKYA this summer. Last year during the high holidays, we remember staring at a computer screen trying to focus on Rosh Hashanah services....on zoom... This year 12 of us gathered for a homecooked meal made by two of our own amazing members (shout out to David and Jaclyn!!), followed by inspiring services from Rabbi Bonnie! We have to say this year was definitely more fulfilling.
We have just posted our event calendar for Yom Kippur and the rest of October (7 events in total!!) and wanted to get them out asap so you can save the date. View the calendar here. We hope some of the upcoming events will pique your interest.
Some highlights include:
**Yom Kippur Yoga -Oct 5th
**Shabbat on Chai (Round 2) - Oct 14th
**Marching in the Pride Parade with the AZ Jews for Pride delegation- Oct 16th
**Finally, a hike on Oct 29th (South Mountain area- Holbert Trail to Dobbins Lookout)
For those on the high holiday membership, remember to use your code to sign up for all the events for free! Otherwise, most events are a small donation of $5-$10 to support the Synagogue and help cover overhead costs. Please always let us know if you are experiencing financial hardship and we can comp your ticket cost.
