Based on the most recent data from MyMatchWork.com, about 60% of people looking for work are within the first ten years of their careers:

This won't come as a surprise as people are most likely still in the exploration phase of their career lives.

But beyond anecdotes, why are they looking for work?

It turns out that job fit and pay are the leading factors:

The top 3 drivers are:
1. The need to earn more.
2. The need to have a job related to their education and/or skills.
3. The need to have a job which fits their lifestyle: While this may initially sound superfluous, it includes aspects like time with family & friends, time for activities outside of work, travel, etc

Needing a job because of a move to new city or town comes in at #10.

While these are important from a population level, what truly matters is what counts for each person as an individual. Which is often not easy to determine at scale for each individual withing a large group.

And just as important, what are the challenges they face in finding and keeping work which matters to them?
