Come On Doughboy!

Yup, that was my first ever Facebook “group”. Before there were groups, I just made a fake Facebook page with that campaign name. It was a cause to get Pillsbury to remove the lard in their cinnamon rolls. I believe there is still lard in their rolls but their PR team negotiated with me through lots of funfetti cake (I was 17) to delete the page with over  5k “friends”. I wish I could share it with you today.

It was a silly cause, but a bunch of people I knew all said they would love those rolls but the lard was prohibitive. The people I noticed that were most impacted were: Muslims, Jewish, Vegetarians, and health-conscious folks. I started with my friends, asked them to share with their friends, and before I knew it, more and more people rolled in (no pun intended).

I engaged with my Facebook group and asked their ideas for funny sayings, we talked about other healthy alternatives, we talked about how lard impacts your body, we did walks, we shared recipes to make our own cinnamon rolls, etc. You get the point. At the end of the day though, before we knew it, we built a community with a unified cause.

You built your product for a reason too! So what is your cause and reason that you can engage people with your product?

Respond to this email with what you stand for and want people to rally around for your business.

Client Highlight

Are you a Pickytarian?  After seeing an opportunity in the marketplace for beautiful and compostable single-use tableware, Pickytarian was born. I helped the founder, Laide, with brainstorming the best target audience and how the brand would show up. I made a holistic marketing strategy for Pickytarian to easily follow and win this holiday season (since the holiday clock starts now)!

I am just so grateful to get to work with amazing founders like Laide and can't wait to help more of you.

As a bonus, I also:

  • Created a reel she could use as content

  • Sampled the product at my party with 50 people

  • Gave the extra spoons to my Ice Cream client to use at her events ( she has 3K IG followers and will tag)

  • Shared in Sprinkles Parents emails (2k parents with 72% open rate)

Sit Back and Watch The Sales

People ask me after every email "how does it work, if we work together?". I always say:
"You just sit back and watch the sales come in". Does that sound nice? Yeah, my clients love it too. Sounds like an infomercial, or a fantasy, but why does it need to be?

I can help provide you with marketing oversight and handle it all so you can focus on other areas of your business. Maybe it's areas of the business that you enjoy more. Or if you are looking for investors, you just need to spend more time there (investors love to see my name/ background on those pitch decks). I get how much work you have as a founder!!!!

How it works:

You:

  • Fill out a brief of your goals

  • Say “Yay” and “nay” as much as you want

I:

  • Build a marketing plan (brand strategy, persona, channels, messaging, content calendar)

  • Put the right players in place (for example if you need social media, PR, affiliate, etc.)

  • Manage the marketing budget and handle the billing

  • Ensure we’re on-brand, hitting goals, meeting sales, on-trend, and everything in between.

Sound good?
