Creative Writing Workshop
Dates: April 8, 15, 22, 29 & May 6
Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: SoHo, NYC
Join fellow creative professionals in the ongoing search for truth, beauty, and process (whatever those mean to you) in this 5-week creative writing workshop focused on fiction, creative nonfiction, and hybrid forms. This workshop is capped at 10 participants.
In this generative workshop led by writer and editor Corinne Lestch, participants will be able to submit up to 15 pages of work for feedback. Together we will analyze works in different genres—including short stories, flash fiction, memoirs and essays—to see how authors use literary techniques such as plot, dialogue, setting and point of view to hold the reader's attention and carve out meaning.
We'll also get into a flow state through free-write prompts and exercises. Participants will take away ideas for new projects, revisions on current ones, and a deep understanding of the writing process and a vocabulary for how to critique creative work. All levels welcome.
What you'll get:
-An in-person community of new writing accountability partners.
-In-depth line editing and developmental feedback of up to 15 pages of work from the instructor, a published writer with an MFA from Columbia University.
-Guided prompts and exercises, plus opportunities to share work in session.
-A WhatsApp group to share literary news and submission opportunities.
