Dr. David Classen is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah and a Consultant in Infectious Diseases. He also serves as a consulting CMIO advisor to Pascal Metrics, a leader in virtual patient safety solutions. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Classen has been at the forefront of patient safety initiatives, co-developing the Global Trigger Tool and contributing to national healthcare quality efforts with the National Academy of Medicine, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and the National Quality Forum.
