Hello and welcome! 👋
My name is Jade Leamcharaskul and I've been running game dev lunch events at the Kings Cross Library for several years (at least since 2014 ...!?). We had to stop due to the pandemic, butI'm pleased to announce that it's back!
Come pop by for a quick bite to eat, chat about game dev, stretch your legs during the lunch hour or do some co-working in the library!
This event is open for all disciplines and experience levels in the industry, whether you're a pro, early careers or a student, you are welcomed!
Do RSVP and I'll see you all soon! 🥪
- Jade
🔜 ☀️ Next event: Game Dev Lunch Picnic Edition! My annual lunch picnics is next on the calendar, keep an eye out for it! 🧺
What to expect
🤫 Reminder that we're meeting in a public library therefore we should keep noise to a minimum, but we CAN chat and socialise!
👾 It is encouraged for you to bring your game demos or anything you'd like to show & tell for feedback.
💻 Feel free to come earlier or stay later if you'd like to do some co-working or use the library facilities.
☕️ The cafe offers budget friendly options so there are drinks, snacks and food available. Alcohol is NOT allowed.
🥗 You are allowed to bring in your own food which is great if you've certain budget or dietary requirements!
⏰ Drop in and drop out at your convenience
♿️ There are accessible lifts and bathrooms available
🚗 The closet tube station is King's Cross / St. Pancras station which is on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly & Victoria lines. There is parking nearby but it will be expensive due to the venue being in a central location.
FAQ
Who am I? - Hi, my name is Jade and I'm a games composer / orchestrator-arranger and game audio producer 👋. You can check out my work and website here: www.jdwasabi.com! However I've recently started a new games event company [11 Dimensions] and the Game Dev Lunch events fall under that umbrella. I'm currently working on a new game events series so stay tuned! 🍿🤫👀
Why are you doing this? - The hustle is Real ™️, but honestly I love the game dev community and I like meeting new people!
Is the event free? - Yes! Since we're meeting in a public library there is no charge for tickets but please do RSVP for me to monitor numbers.
Why Thursday? - Sorry I'm busy on other days!
Why Lunch? - There are many other industry events that happen in the evening and hosting events within that time frame makes it more expensive especially in more central locations. Hosting this event in this location and time also makes it more suitable for students, carers, parents and/or those who may want to bring their kids. I have organised Dinner Devs on occasion but they are far and few in between. Also, I like sunlight 😎.
Code of Conduct - By attending this event, you agree to adhere to our Code of Conduct.
