About Event

Curious about how AI systems can become more personalized and human-like?

In this session, Doug, a Data Scientist II at Amazon AGI, breaks down some of the most exciting advancements in large language models (LLMs) — the tech behind modern AI chatbots and assistants.

He'll introduce concepts like:

  • 🤖 How LLMs can be customized for individual users

  • 🧪 The role of synthetic data in training AI

  • 🎭 What role-playing language agents (RPLAs) are and why they matter

  • 🧑‍💼 How real-world companies like Amazon are putting this research into practice

Doug will also share his journey — from intern to data scientist at Amazon — along with practical tips, lessons learned, and what it’s like working on cutting-edge AI systems. Perfect for students exploring data science, AI, or anyone dreaming of a career in tech!
