About Event

OneThousandClub believes that meaningful connection between Portuguese and Foreigners often starts around the dinner table.

That's why we will continue our dinner series this spring!

HOW IT WORKS: You pick an evening that works for you and sign up to join 8 other members for a three-course meal by one of OneThousandClub's private chefs! As is club tradition, it will be hosted by one of our members, and there will always be one inspiring discussion question!

21st of March! THE CHEF: PAI GRANDE RULES

*We will be announcing new OneThousandClub private chefs partnerships into the rotation throughout March - so stay tuned!

OneThousandClub is building partnerships with our favorite Portuguese native chefs who are passionate about adding new twists to Portuguese cuisine and working closely with local farmers.

Our first OneThousandClub chef in the social pod rotation will be PAI GRANDE RULES (https://www.instagram.com/paigranderules/)

Pai Grande Rules (Big Father) comes from the expression in Angolan slang to describe someone who takes care of the other with dedication and commitment. As such, it would be difficult to disassociate the commitment and quality that is required by Diogo Lima's culinary project, a Portuguese chef with roots in the deep alentejo town of Crato.

What he lacks in experience in professional and fast paced kitchens, he is given in confidence and daring to dismember the acquired concept of chef, creating with a humble soul and a pinch of fun the dishes he presents us.

From the Middle East to Texas, from the Caucasus to Italy and even traditional Portuguese flavours all merge together in a deliciously executed dish.

THE LOCATION: AT HOME!

OneThousandClub is growing, but we aim to always stay intimate by gathering around the table at member's home. We have a list of members - all with homes vetted for space and vibe - who will be your host for your evening.

Once you book a date and your spot is confirmed, you will be introduced your host for the night, along with the address, other guests, and evening discussion question!

*Every date and home will be different, but we promise you'll be hosted by some of our favorite members (!!) and at great time!

Once you sign up, please wait for a confirmation within 48 hours with the evening menu and final details.

Cancellation Policy:

Due to limited seating and private chefs being paid in advance, we request that you cancel at least 48 hours before a scheduled dinner. This gives us the opportunity to fill the seat. You may cancel by phone or email. If you have to cancel your dinner, we offer you a dinner credit to your membership if you cancel before the 48 hours, but do not offer refunds. You may use these credits towards any future social pod dinner. However, if you do not cancel prior to the 48 hours, you will lose the payment for the dinner.
