About Event

Join in and bring your "people problems" for coaching, feedback, and training.

The theme of this session is Communication, i.e., "Speaking like a leader."

"In order to be effective as a leader, you must be able to communicate, ie speak, as a leader. Before you can speak as a leader, you must be able to see and hear as a leader. And before you can see and hear as a leader, you must become aware of all of the stories, beliefs and opinions you hold that are in the way of you seeing and hearing clearly —which is to say, you must learn who you're already being as a leader." — excerpt from leadership training program by executive coach Adam Quiney.

Said another way, there are four steps in this training:
1. Discover your current default patterns.
2. Become aware of the roots of the patterns - stories, beliefs, and opinions.
3. See and hear these roots as they come alive in specific situations.
4. Then, practice speaking from a place different from these roots.

In this session, you'll get feedback on all these 4 levels.

The Relational Leadership Dojo is a container for practicing leading others through discomfort and resistance. It's like the gym for your people leadership skills and capacity.

The goal is two-fold:

  1. Bring awareness into your invisible defense patterns, which come alive in the discomfort zone of conversations and block you from being the leader you want to be.

  2. Create practices and tools to transcend those patterns and show up with deeper authenticity, power, and leadership.

How it works:

You have three ways to play in the dojo:

  1. Seeker: Bring a question you have in mind or a people problem you're struggling with. You'll get support from me and other leaders on the call.

  2. Leader: Raise your hand to practice leading someone on their challenge. You'll get feedback and training on how you lead people.

  3. Observer: Learn through the osmosis effect of watching coaching and relational work in real situations.
