Join us for a Generative Art Jam at the Seattle Interactive Media Lab!
6:00 – 8:00 PM: Making Generative Art!
8:00 – 9:00 PM: Demos/Social Time
We’ll be drawing inspiration from Genuary (https://genuary.art) prompts - so feel free to pick a random one on the spot or bring a favorite prompt you’ve been itching to explore. No pressure to finish a masterpiece; this is all about experimenting, learning, and having fun together!
What to Bring:
A laptop (we recommend installing your favorite creative coding environment or tools in advance)
Food and snacks to share (optional, but always welcome!)
Noise-canceling headphones if you like to code in your own zone
Event Flow:
6:00 – 8:00 PM: Generative Art Co-working
Pick a Genuary prompt (or your own generative idea) to work on. Feel free to collaborate, ask questions, or just jam quietly on your own.
8:00 – 9:00 PM: Demos and Social Time
Share what you’ve been working on with the group. Get feedback, swap tips, and maybe discover new collaborators. Wrap up with casual conversation, snacks, and good vibes! Whether you’re a seasoned generative artist, a code newbie, or just curious about creative coding, you’re welcome to join.
