Every Wednesday, the AI by Hand team is conducting workshops to teach AI by Hand to learners around the world.
Beginner Workshop
This workshop is designed for beginners to build a math foundation for deep learning, covering 1. Dot Product, 2. Matrix Multiplication, 3. Linear Layer, 4. Activation, and 5. Artificial Neuron.
Transformer Workshop
This intermediate workshop is designed for AI engineers who understand how to use Transformer models, but still treat them as a black box. By visualizing the data flow and operations step-by-step in Excel, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how the math works, how information moves through each layer, and how the dimensions of all components align.
SOTA Workshops
In this workshop, you'll dive into a cutting-edge model, architecture, or algorithm recently published. You'll work through brand-new AI by Hand style exercises, crafted specifically for this workshop. These are not available anywhere else—because you’ll be working at the state of the art!

Agent Workshops
This advanced workshop is for those already experienced with AI agents who want to sharpen their architectural thinking through a “by hand ✍️” approach. Using pen and paper, we’ll sketch and explain high-level principles such as context management, modularity, and control flow. By working through these paradigms visually and manually, you will gain a clearer, more intuitive grasp of how agent systems are structured.
