About Event

Join us on Tuesday, May 21st as we discuss Dr. Chris Bollas' paper "The Transformational Object."

In this paper, Bollas introduces the concept of the "transformational object" - the mother is initially experienced by the infant not as a whole object, but as a source of transformations that alter the infant's internal and external world. This primordial experience leaves a lasting trace, manifesting in adulthood as a search for objects, relationships or experiences that can recapture the sense of transformation and psychic metamorphosis. Bollas explores how this early dynamic shapes aspects of art, culture, psychopathology and crucially, the analytic relationship itself.

Seats are limited to ensure a higher quality of discussion, so RSVP to secure your seat today! Attendance is free, and we encourage anyone to join us. We value a diversity of perspectives from both inside and outside the clinic.
