On April 25th, join us for an evening with Christel Buchanan - multi-time founder, AI innovator, and former VP Asia at Brandwatch. From scaling startups and being one of the earliest hires at Twitter internationally, to building AI-powered platforms that democratise technology, Christel has truly lived what it means to stay in motion - and in beta.
With experiences spanning blockchain, social platforms, and AI, Christel will reflect on what it takes to constantly evolve, build solo (but never alone), and stay ahead in fast-moving tech - without burning out.

About the guest
Christel Buchanan is a pioneering technology entrepreneur and AI innovator at the intersection of emerging technology and practical implementation. As Founder of ChatAndBuild and Pivotal (backed by Babylon Labs, Avail, and the founder of Thorchain), she has created AI-powered platforms that democratises software development for non-technical users while revolutionsing digital asset productivity. Previously, as Co-Founder and CTO of BoltOS, she architected an immersive streaming ecosystem that secured partnerships with 180+ TV brands and 50+ media companies including Bloomberg, Hisense Group, and One Football.
Her career spans founding roles at three transformative technology companies and leadership positions at Twitter (10th international hire) and Brandwatch (VP Asia), where she scaled operations across APAC markets with 300%+ YoY growth. With dual Oxford Masters degrees in AI and Major Programme Management, Christel possesses a unique combination of technical understanding and strategic vision – she's equally comfortable discussing the nuances of transformer models as she is navigating the complexities of cross-cultural business partnerships (often while jetlagged in at least two time zones).
In her spare time (when she has some!) she enjoys long distance running, ice baths, cooking, and has completed 2 Ironman 70.3 triathlons as well as a WSET Level 2 in Wines and Spirits. She has recently taken to Barry's and is held accountable by Tom (the co-founder of Open Sourced) to get moving and start lifting in the red room. Rumor has it she can explain blockchain tokenomics during a plank hold, but witnesses are still recovering from the experience
