About Event

A day retreat for seeing, feeling, and speaking about death through reflection, photography, and ceremony.

What if death wasn't something to fear or avoid — but something to witness, feel, and speak about with care?

Join us for a rare and reverent gathering that invites you to explore death not as an abstract idea, but as a living presence — through images created, words spoken, and the intimacy of shared reflection.

Led by award-winning photojournalist Oliver Farshi (World Press Photo 2025), Thu Nguyen (founder of Nusqool and coach specializing in navigating uncertainty), and Terrence Ho (death doula and caregiver), this retreat brings together image-making, embodiment, and sacred conversation in a gentle, supportive container.

Together, we’ll explore:

📷 Photographing death: how to frame loss with tenderness and notice details in the world around us

🖤 Reflecting on your own death: through visual journaling, creative prompts, and guided visualization

🔥 Ceremony & release: a fire ritual to honour what you’re ready to let go

🗣️ Conversations on dying: speaking the unspoken, alone and in community

This retreat is for anyone curious about mortality — whether you're grieving a loved one, walking alongside someone at the end of life, or simply ready to face death more fully in order to live more honestly.

No photography experience required. Bring a camera or phone, a journal, and something that represents a meaningful ending in your life.
