UNfocusing: Introduction to Focusing as your inner GPS
Focusing is the mindful practice of using our bodily felt sense to guide our actions, moment by moment.
Paradoxically, we start this process by “unfocusing.” This may seem strange, so it helps to use an analogy. Think about how a GPS works. For the GPS to change its course, it takes a disruption, for instance, you veer off the road. Then, the GPS needs to take stock of where it is and recompute the itinerary.
Our inner GPS does not usually speak loud. So, most people are usually not aware of the signals it sends. They are neither loud sirens nor flashing lights, but subtle sensations.
When we turn our attention inward, we start to notice these subtle sensations. “Refocusing” happens organically, as the subtle sensations gradually come into focus and become meaningful.
It is now simpler than ever to access our inner GPS. This introductory class presents a down-to-earth perspective on Focusing as an organic process that we can easily access.

His deep curiosity about learning from different perspectives on Focusing led him to conduct dozens of interviews within the Focusing community to explore the many ways it can be done.
