Physics x Aging Journal Club: "Aging clocks, entropy, and the limits of age-reversal"
Attend this session if you want to join a casual discussion on a recent (and provocative) aging biology pre-print from Gero.
In their pre-print, they propose a semi-quantitative model of aging (with ideas borrowed from physics) that suggests severe constraints on reversing aging. The authors instead suggest practical ways of suppressing the rate of aging in humans, perhaps through achieving negligible senescence.

which Brian Kennedy described in a Tweet thusly: "Every scientist who studies aging should read and understand this paper. If it holds true we have to rethink how we approach the development of therapies that increase maximum lifespan in humans."
About the Author (special guest)
Andrei Tarkhov is a Skoltech PhD graduate and a true multidisciplinary expert in aging research. He managed to combine his expertise and intuition from fundamental theoretical physics with cutting-edge biomedical research on one of the most challenging problems for modern society — aging. He was previously Principal Researcher at Gero.ai and now currently a Research Fellow at the Gladyshev Lab at Harvard Medical School.
