Brian Mansell President at Fishermen Labs. His 20+ year career in product management, strategy, and software engineering spans digital media, enterprise platforms, and emerging tech with 12 years at Disney, and 11 years in startups.
Since joining Fishermen Labs, Brian has focused on deepening relationships with key clients and has been actively involved in the conceptualization and development of two dozen immersive projects delivered to clients. He is now focused on expanding the company's reach into new immersive applications and industries to partner and empower organizations with the technology advancement in the XR space.
Prior to Fishermen Labs, Brian honed his passion for product management and technology strategy at Disney. He spearheaded content management strategy for digital experiences across Disney's vast consumer properties (Disney Parks, ABC, ESPN, Studios) and organized tech communities and internal company-wide conferences for that domain. He later led the strategy and development of numerous enterprise products and platforms, growing teams of product managers, engineers, and architects focused on innovation programs, custom applications, platform evolution, and new experiences for Disney’s global workforce of 200K+ cast members and employees. Prior to Disney, Brian worked for three startups early in his career in ecommerce risk, application performance monitoring, and media streaming technologies. He holds an M.S. in Software Engineering from Regis University and is a co-author on six patents.
Fishermen Labs is an immersive media agency specializing in the design and development of extended reality (XR: augmented, virtual, and mixed reality) and interactive experiences that drive tangible value for business and meaningful connections between brands and consumers. Founded in 2014, they have partnered with over 200 beloved global brands, delivering over 600 projects and establishing themselves as a trusted leader in XR development.
Chris Hartman is VP of Product Management at GigXR, an immersive learning platform and global provider of extended reality (XR) solutions for healthcare training.
Chris leads a global team of world class designers, developers, educators, and medical professionals to create cutting edge, and meaningful medical training experiences. To support the company’s products, which include HoloHuman, HoloPatient, HoloScenarios, Chris works with doctors from Cambridge University Hospitals, Northwest Permanente, and the National University of Singapore, among others. His work is at the apex of technology, medical practice, education and user experience design in XR.
Prior to GigXR, Chris cultivated his passion for product management at Yahoo!, where he was instrumental in the global expansion of early community services, and later held leading roles at several LA based startups, including SureSale as Director of Product, and Homepeak, where he served as CEO. Chris will be presenting the paper “Conceptualizing Collaborative Team Learning in XR for Medical Education and Training,” which he co-authored with Dr. Inki Kim at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, at the upcoming HCI International 2024 conference in Washington D.C.
Wadooah Wali from New Canvas - Co-founder, Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Producer.
Wadooah Wali is Co-founder, Chief Strategy Officer & Executive Producer at New Canvas. New Canvas is an award-winning, XR entertainment studio that produces and publishes immersive entertainment for digital-first audiences with an unapologetic focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. A true media influencer, her 20+ career expertise spans across traditional & disruptive media platforms, including Livestrong.com, Facebook, Twitter, WarnerMedia, Fullscreen & podcast leader Midroll Media/EarWolf (acquired by Scripps Media).
As an award-winning, indie content creator, she’s passionate about connecting audiences with stories via writing, directing and producing various projects that span TV, film, video, podcasts, XR and beyond. Additionally, Wadooah currently serves as an advisory board member of GALECA (the Society of LGBTQ+ Entertainment Critics) and is a co-founder & advisor for Revry.tv.
