Lecture begins after Isha (Iqamah at 7 PM), dinner will be served

This lecture explores how Muslims have been
systematically excluded and dehumanized by the U.S. government. From the Cold War to the
Global War on Terror, the state has targeted Muslim resistance movements that reject
assimilation and advocate for global liberation grounded in Islamic principles. Drawing on
Agamben's philosophy, it argues that Western politics is rooted in exclusion, reducing marginalized groups to "bare life" and stripping them of their rights. This exclusion has led to state-sanctioned violence, such as detentions, assassinations, and the disproportionate targeting of Muslims.
