In the fourth session of Khandani-ha: Conversations with Books, we explore two powerful works, each deeply intertwined with the life and experiences of a woman who is a scholar, a writer, and a mother. Pardis Goudarzian, PhD in Natural Resources with a specialization in environmental science and arid land management, joins us from Belgium to speak about the intersections of motherhood, the Earth, and writing as lived experience.
We begin with her first published translation: How Women Can Save the Planet. This analytical and thought-provoking work, previously released by Iran Academia Press, reflects years of research and environmental consciousness. Through precise language, real-world examples, and fresh insights, it urges us to see women not merely as victims of climate change, but as architects of a sustainable future.
📖 We then turn to her new translation: Becoming Brave Together—an emotionally powerful book about mothers who, often silently and anonymously, are the true heroes of caregiving. Stories of unwavering love and perseverance that soften the heart and awaken the mind. It is a book Pardis chose to translate because of her own lived experience as a mother.
This session is held in collaboration with and joined by Mansoureh Shojaee, tireless librarian, critic, and long-time companion of Khandani-ha. Together, they’ll share a heartfelt yet profound dialogue—between two women united by a love for books and a shared belief in their power to change the world.
