Let's make ripples in Chicago!
Once upon a time, a bunch of creators forgot the whole point of telling stories and are perhaps focusing on gear and numbers a little too much...
We are going BACK TO THE BASICS of storytelling 🪄
This will be a different version of the typical "StoryJams" you're used to.
No digital content (first half of the workshop will focus on writing our stories on pens and paper...no phones allowed 😉) -> think to the very first story you were ever told as a kid, yeah, probably verbally - through the magic of words!
General schedule:
🎤 Starting the day off with a storytelling workshop by Scott (an award-winning storytelling professional) while eating lunch.
🎤 Break into groups to work on individual stories & receive feedback.
🎤 We'll sit around a circle and tell our stories, campfire-style.
🎤 Chit chat + snacks time.
🎤 Ending the night off with one of the most OG versions of storytelling: music. Special concert with a secret musician 😉
In other words, by purchasing a ticket, you're getting lunch, a workshop, snacks, creator goodies, new friendships, AND A MINI CONCERT!! (Plus, Summertime Chicago will be at your fingertips - we'll share a list of sights to see the rest of your weekend here!)
Things to note:
⭐️ Please bring any notebooks, journals, pictures, polaroid cameras -> anything you may need for writing your stories without your phone (we'll provide pens and paper!)
⭐️ There will be a media team on site capturing photos and videos to share after the event.
⭐️ Please show up ON TIME since we are starting with a wonderful story workshop.
⭐️ Respect & welcome each other - everyone is trying their best & perhaps stepping out of their comfort zone!
⭐️ CHICAGO AIRBNB: for those who want to get in touch with each other to form airbnb groups, please fill this in.
🌈 The goal of this event is for you to walk out feeling warm, with new connections, see old friends, ask profound questions and an overwhelming feeling of inspiration.
