About Event

AI technology like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Bard and Gemini, Midjourney, Dall-E, and many others will play an increasingly large role in our day-to-day lives. The music industry will use it as a tool for creativity and new forms of music and autonomous agents will usher in a new era of LLM and chatbot capability. To this end, New York AI Users will host our eleventh talks & social gathering at the private event space in Sour Mouse. We're very excited to host at Sour Mouse, which has a theater screen and fully talks setup, along with a really cool space for the social portion of the event. From the creators and organizers of New York Tech & Beer®, New York AI Users organizes high-quality AI events that both educate and connect AI enthusiasts in the New York area who use or want to use AI to meet their creative, entrepreneurial, and technical aspirations. No technical background is required, only an interest in learning about these tools of the future.

For our tenth meeting, we will gather at Sour Mouse in the Lower East Side, and we will host:

  • Talks on AI:

  • Our first talk will be by Alisha Outridge. Join her for a captivating discussion about "AI's Role in Music's Next Act" where the future of music intersects with the cutting edge of artificial intelligence & let's explore what a post-AGI world of music looks like. This session will unveil how AI has transformed music production, distribution, and consumption thus far revealing the groundbreaking trends that are propelling the industry into a new era. From algorithms that craft emotional soundtracks to platforms personalizing music experiences & virtual artists that can perform 24/7 with no limitation related to geography, language or bio needs, let's look at the opportunities and challenges these innovations present. Alisha will summarize the music industry's pressing concerns, including ethical dilemmas, authenticity, and the potential for oversaturation related to AI. So, whether you're deeply embedded in the music industry, fascinated by technology, or just curious about the fusion of art and AI, this session promises a harmonious blend of insights and forecasts, striking a chord with the future of music in the AI era. Alisha Outridge is an Executive Product & Technology Operator with 18+ years of experience in the tech, entertainment, and music industries, pioneering the development of products and new business models utilizing emerging technologies such as AI, AR, social media, and Web3. Alisha's contributions include co-inventing patented work at Facebook (now Meta) and leading computer vision innovation as Chief Product Officer at FlyBy (acquired by Apple; Google X company), iHeartMedia, SolidBlock (now DIBS Capital), and TuneCore, serving as its Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO). Currently, Alisha is the Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO) at Byte&Chord and a Faculty Member in Brown University's Masters Program and School of Engineering, where she focuses on building solutions using emerging technologies that solve problems in the music, big data tech, social tech, and entertainment spaces (ie. AI, ML, blockchain, computer vision, and Web3) in partnership with large media, music and technology companies.

  • Next, we'll hear from Shanif Dhanani, who will talk about Building Autonomous LLM Agents For Business. LLMs have created a new way for software to act rationally to achieve high-level objectives in an automatic manner. This opens up the possibility of creating software that's significantly more autonomous and self-directed than what we've seen in the past. This talk will go over some of the common design patterns, challenges with implementation, and practical suggestions for building an autonomous agent for businesses and their employees. Shanif Dhanani is a software engineer, data scientist, and founder of Locusive - a company that's creating an AI-powered customer success assistant for SaaS. Shanif previously built two companies, one which sold to Twitter, the other which shut down. He loves creating software and AI products for startups and has learned the ups and downs of starting new companies from scratch. Today, through Locusive, he's helping companies leverage the power of Generative AI to provide their customers with extraordinary experiences, while also freeing up their CSM teams for more strategic work, like driving renewals and upsells.
