About the Speakers

Jacob Portes is a research scientist at Databricks with an interest in LLM pretraining, finetuning, and retrieval. Some recent projects include MosaicBERT and Beyond Chinchilla-Optimal: Accounting for Inference in Language Model Scaling Laws, in addition to the MPT and DBRX open source LLMs. He was part of the original Mosaic research team acquired by Databricks in 2023. 

Jacob Jackson is the founder of Supermaven, a coding assistant with a unique 1 million token context window. Previously he founded TabNine and was a researcher at OpenAI.

Daniel Kang is a professor of computer science at UIUC, where he studies AI agents in various domains, including cyber security. Outside of his professorship, Daniel advises startups (>$150M total raised) and consults at companies (including OpenAI and Microsoft). He also help develop the leading standard for ML performance benchmarking, MLPerf.

Your Hosts

Prithvi Rajasekaran is a Software Engineer at NerdWallet. Previously, he worked at MIT & C3 AI, supporting research & product development of AI for various real world use cases. 

Sriram Ramakrishnan is currently a Product Manager at Visa working on biometric identity and risk authentication solutions. He previously launched Finch (consumer neobank, brokerage & rewards card) and prior to that, worked at Techstars and Jet.

Samantha Hughes is currently a Community Specialist at M13 Ventures, leading business development and community engagement across the New York and Los Angeles ecosystems. Previously, Samantha managed community programs at M13 and coordinated strategic outreach and events at The Rockefeller University.
