Tableau by Visionary Projects members: Join us for a brand new project — This experience is for anyone wanting to have a curated guide & experience on the inner world of artist studio visits. We will be visiting two private studios [virtually!] and hearing directly from artists we love as they share their practice, creative insights and storytelling.
Studios we will be visiting: Brittany Clifford [Miami] & Austin Fields [Los Angeles]
^ Austin Fields, a native of Texas, has developed a rich exploration of light, reflection, and abstraction through her roles as a fine artist, photographer and glassblower. Her technique involves sculpting hot glass in a spontaneous and organic manner, with her pieces often echoing the natural curves of the human form, while drawing inspiration from landscapes, lightscapes, and dreamscapes. Her work is showcased in various galleries nationwide including the Sarasota Art Museum and the Dallas Museum of Art Gallery, as well as private and corporate collections such as Mercedes-Benz and numerous private residences.
^ Brittany Clifford, "My work is driven by purpose, passion, and an unwavering love for creation. Each piece I produce is infused with emotion and depth, inviting the viewer to embark on their own journey. The process of painting for me is seemingly chaotic and erratic, moving at a fast pace. Yet, from this storm of creativity emerges artworks that are brimming with life, light, and a sense of visual calmness. The essence of my art is rooted in my past experiences, intertwined with the emotions I feel in the present. Painting is the only way I can articulate these complex feelings, which is why I often refer to my pieces as my stories or songs. Words fail to capture the essence of what I wish to express, so I paint them instead. The colors in my paintings are never arbitrary; they are drawn from specific visual inspirations and carry intentionality in their depth and tone. My work often oscillates between a heaviness in depth and a soft, feminine quality. Music plays a significant role in my creative process, influencing the emotional resonance of my paintings. I like to think of my work as existing in a space between chaos and calm, reflecting the duality of the human experience."
