Measuring and Driving Data Science Value with Ali Rauh
In a rapidly evolving data landscape, measuring and driving value through data science is essential for long-term success. Join us for the next Data Dialogs session featuring Ali Rauh, Director of Applied Science and Data Science at Uber, as she shares her experience in building data science teams and frameworks that effectively measure impact and create business value. Ali will draw on her extensive experience at Uber and Airbnb to provide actionable insights on leading teams, building experimentation processes, and optimizing for long-term outcomes.
Topics include:
Measuring and Driving Value with OKRs, OECs, and OFs:
Learn how frameworks like OKRs (Objective and Key Results), OECs (Overall Evaluation Criteria), and OFs (Objective Functions) help data science teams measure their contributions and drive value across the organization. Ali will explain how to lead teams through these frameworks to ensure alignment with business goals.Long-Term Value Modeling:
Ali will explore how forward-looking models can help predict future outcomes and guide strategic decisions, while highlighting the challenges of relying on backward-looking metrics like OECs. You’ll learn how to apply these models to maximize long-term impact.Experimentation to Drive Innovation:
Discover how to design experimentation processes that enable self-service while ensuring strategic alignment. Ali will share her philosophy on when to empower teams with experimentation autonomy and when to step in for more structured oversight.Structuring Data Science Teams for Impact:
Ali will discuss different ways to structure and lead data science teams to ensure they are focused on driving measurable value, adapting to change, and delivering results aligned with business objectives.
